Suffragan Bishop
Dr. Jeffery D. Goldsmith, Pastor

Bishop Jeffery D. Goldsmith was born to the parents of Otis and Frankie Goldsmith of Oklahoma City in 1952. There were six (6) brothers and six sisters.

He was married to Regina A. Brown on Friday, February 6, 1976. They have six (6) children. Jeffery, Antonio, Shefra, Portia, Lamesha, & Tyron. He has 10 grandchildren.

Bishop Goldsmith attended Douglas High School. He attended Oscar Rose Junior College in Midwest City, Oklahoma, majoring in marketing.

He later pursued carpentry and as CEO, founded Goldsmith Construction Company in 1972. He was self-employed for a number of years as a successful entrepreneur.

He became an employee of Oklahoma Natural Gas in February of 1976. After 24 years of dedicated service to this company he resigned his position as Senior Consultant on November 15, 1999, to continue his fulltime responsibility as pastor of Emmanuel Tabernacle.

He was baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ & filled with the Gift of the Holy Ghost in 1974 at Christ Temple Church, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where District Elder Charles W. Meadows was pastor.

In his early Christian walk with the Lord, he would often say, “I don’t want to live a life of a defeated Christian.” Well, he certainly hasn’t. The Lord has caused him to triumph as he calls to memory 11 Corinthians 2:14, “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ.” First Lady Goldsmith describes him as one of God’s serious contenders.

Since his Christian conversion in 1974, he has been a member of only one church, Christ Temple.

After 19 years of faithful service to his pastor and the church, in 1993, his membership at Christ Temple Community church culminated in order to start the work that God had called him to.

The Lord has blessed Bishop Goldsmith to come up through the ranks. He was an active and devout member of Christ Temple, serving as an usher, choir member, Sunday School teacher, Assistant Youth President, and later elevated to Youth President. He was later ordained as a deacon during his tenure at Christ Temple.

He was hand-picked and called by God into the ministry in 1981. He studied and meditated on God’s word.

He accepted his call to the ministry in 1981, started preaching in 1982, licensed in 1985, ordained in 1992 through the Aenon Bible College and now serves on the Board of Directors of Aenon Bible College in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Bishop Goldsmith knew that the Lord was calling him to pastor. It was after consulting with his pastor in 1985 of his calling that he was advised to wait five years before going into the office of pastorate. He waited.

In November of 1992, the issued to start a church was revisited with his pastor, Suffragan Bishop Goldsmith’s decision was to accept God’s call to start a work in the Northwest quadrant of Oklahoma City.

In April of 1993, with the approval of the Oklahoma State Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc., he founded and is the pastor of Emmanuel Tabernacle.

He is active in the community. He served on the Board of Citizens for Juvenile Justice Committee from 2001-2005.

He served as Co-Chairman and later appointed Chairman of the Primary 9 Committee, appointed by the Oklahoma Board of County Commissioners from 2003-2004.

Bishop Goldsmith was included in the 2005-2006 Edition of Who’s Who for Accomplishments and Achievements in the Field of Religion and Membership Organizations.

He has been a well-known face in the Oklahoma State Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World since his walk with the Lord began in 1974. He has served as Lay Director, Assistant Treasurer, 1st Vice Chairman and now serves as Chairman of the Oklahoma State Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World.

He has received elevations from Elder to District Elder, and now serves a Suffragan Bishop.

Our pastor, The Honorable Suffragan Bishop Jeffery D. Goldsmith is a good, great man of God.
