First Lady Goldsmith was born to Mr. Austin F. &
Mrs. Thelma Brown in Chockie, Oklahoma on May 30,
1956. She is the youngest girl of six siblings.
Three sisters and three brothers.
Her mother passed away on January 21, 1970 at the
age of 45. First Lady was 14 years old at the time
of her mother’s death. She was blessed to have a
wonderful grandmother, Maggie McJenkins who took her
to church and cared for her and her siblings after
their mother’s demise.
The late pastor F.M. Elmore of Kilgore, Texas came
into her life at a very early age and nurtured her
in the ways of holiness.
On July 21, 1962, in Atoka, Oklahoma, at the age of
six, she received the baptism in Jesus Name by Elder
Peter McDaniel of Dallas, Texas.
She attributes her spiritual walk with the Lord to
the teaching of her late pastor, Pastor F.M. Elmore.
On August 11, 1970, at the age of 14, she was filled
with the gift of the Holy Ghost while in revival
with the Late Evangelist Alice Strozier of Los
Angeles, California. She has been blessed to have
received encouragement from many laborers in the
gospel. Just to name a few, the late Mother Ross of
McAlester, Oklahoma, Mother Margaret Boyd of
Oklahoma City, the Late Elder J.J. Williams,
Evangelist Esther Allen, of Bakersfield, CA.,
Suffragan Bishop Emeritus Charles W. Meadows, the
Late Dr. Minnie Black of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bishop
Ronald L. & First Lady Rose Young. These individuals
gave her guidance that will be forever cherished.
She was a member of Faith Temple, Stringtown,
Oklahoma from an early age up to age 19, under the
pastorate of the Late F.M. Elmore.
She graduated from Stringtown High School in May of
1975.
She was persuaded to move to the bright lights of
Oklahoma City in 1975. There she met her husband,
She and Bro. Jeffery D. Goldsmith were united in
matrimony on Friday, February 6, 1976.
She is a mother of six delightful children. Jeffery
Orlando, Antonio Lamar, Shefra Latrice, Portia
LaShonn, Lamesha DeAnn and Tyron Davis Goldsmith.
She is extremely happy to have her adorable
Daughter-In-Law, Denise, and her handsome and most
accommodating Son-In-Law, Victor Larue Nickelberry,
She is a grandmother of ten.
In 1989, in Owasso, Oklahoma, she set the pace for
female race-walkers. She holds the State Title to
this day as Outstanding Female Race-walker in the
State of Oklahoma. Her challenge was a 10k. She was
ecstatic to have walked her first mile in eight
minutes. To God be ALL of the glory for this
accomplishment.
First Lady Goldsmith is a Certified Shorthand Court
Reporter for the State of Oklahoma. She worked in
the Juvenile Division & Criminal Division for a
number of years. She was the first African American
to serve on the district level in the City of
Oklahoma City.
First Lady Goldsmith accepted her call to the
ministry in 1995. She is an Ordained Evangelist
through the Aenon Bible College.
She works diligently at “The Tabernacle” alongside
her pastor, The Honorable Suffragan Bishop Jeffery
D. Goldsmith. She serves as Church Administrator,
Young Adult Sunday School Teacher, Adult choir
President, Praise & Worship Leader, Missionary
President for 7 ˝ years, Coordinator of the Monthly
Women’s Community Prayer, Founder of the “Empowered
Women’s” News Brief, Coordinator of “The Transformed
Woman” – Women’s Conference, which is an annual
event.
She is surrounded by a FAITHFUL and OUTSTANDING
congregation who have “CAUGHT the VISION of the
pastor and endeavors to do whatever they can to help
bring the vision into fruition. That’s ET; and
that’s a “God-Sent”.
First Lady Goldsmith loves singing. The “Eternal
Praise” singers is a group that the Lord birthed
into her spirit in the latter part of 2000. “EPS”
consist of a group of singers who are dedicated to
the Lord. Singers who are willing to minister in
songs. “I will bless the Lord at all times and His
praise shall continually be in my mouth”. Psalm
34:1. That’s Eternal Praise!
Faithfulness to God, to our pastor and to our church
has kept us together. It is our desire to
demonstrate to the Lord that we will not forget what
He has done for us. He has brought us from a mighty
long way and we are “Giving it back to Him.”
First Lady has received much inspiration from her
husband. He has truly been a father to his children,
and an enduring husband. To sum it all up, he’s been
more than a husband, he’s been a friend. He is
exceptional.
As she look back over her life and begin to think
things over, she can truly say that she has been
blessed. She was healed of diabetes as a young girl.
And when the doctors thought she had lupus, God
said, “Not so”. Her praise, her thought, her deepest
feeling is, “Jesus is the best thing that ever
happened to me”.
